These aren’t “normal” t-shirts! They’re the most environmentally responsible and sustainably sourced shirts ya can get and here's why.....
They’re 100% Organic Cotton! Organic cotton is grown and processed with out chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Regular conventionally grown cotton takes up to three times its weight in pesticides to produce. Close to 40% of ALL of the worlds pesticides are sprayed on conventional cotton. Eeek! We do not support that!
Made responsibly in Los Angeles, California, USA! A message from American Apparel... These are the softest, smoothest, best-looking organic cotton tees available! They are made of 100% organic fine jersey cotton and have a super durable rib neckband!
While other companies use less expensive carded cotton, we only utilize fine-gauge, preshrunk combed cotton. The superior quality of the fabric lends a lightweight yet extra soft feel. Nine skilled workers construct each t-shirt in a sweatshop-free environment in downtown Los Angeles. We proudly employ more than 5,000 industrial workers in Southern California, all of whom are paid fair wages and have access to affordable healthcare and benefits!
Printed with environmentally friendly Water Based Inks! Water based ink is a special type of ink that literally soaks into the fabric instead of sitting on top of it, as plastisol does. Since the fabric isn’t compromised by the ink, garments are left with a super soft and natural feeling print. Water based inks are PVC free and contain no harmful or toxic substances. They are completely safe to work around and wear!
What does Plastisol/ PVC have to do with shirts? It is what “normal” T-shirts are printed with. Plastisol ink is a liquefied (PVC) polyvinyl chloride. PVC is by far the most environmentally damaging plastic. The PVC life cycle -- from its production, use, and disposal -- results in the release of many toxins into our environment. Please check out the following link to learn more about the dangers of PVC and why you should avoid it! Learn more about PVC here.
Thank you for supporting us and for helping us support other responsible businesses! We are grateful!
